HISTORY

Through a British Curriculum-based education that fosters moral, accountable, and internationally aware lifelong learners, Bangladesh School Muscat strives to provide academic achievement for pupils in the global community. The establishment of a community school for expatriates, particularly Bangladeshi children living in Muscat Governate, Sultanate of Oman, was a long-held and shared desire of the Bangladeshi Community and the Embassy of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The noble vision of the late H.E. Major General Amin Ahmed Chowdhury, Bir Bikram, psc (Retd) Al Numan, former ambassador of Bangladesh to the Sultanate of Oman, and the benevolent approvals of the relevant Ministries allowed for the successful realization of this noble idea. The School was established on September 3, 1996, and on November 9, 1996, it was officially opened in a mansion in Al Qurum. A British national named Mr. Robert Cusworth was chosen to serve as Bangladesh School Muscat's first principal. Syeda Latifa Amin (the spouse of the Founder patron) officially opened the current school facility on January 3, 2003, and it is situated on 18th November Street in North Al Ghubrah, Muscat. 73 employees and more than 1400 students make up the current BSM family. Apart from Bangladesh, this includes academics and students from 16 different countries. Along with proactive and robust academic programs, the school accommodates and nurtures each student's native culture and customs upon enrollment. The school offers the London Examinations of International GCSE and IAL Examinations and is a registered Edexcel Examination Centre (# 97114). As a result, the school adequately prepares its students for the international examinations.
